Fan-art of a Taxxon.

A Taxxon is a Yeerk-enslaved race that has been described as resembling a massive centipede. Eight to ten feet long, they are closer to the height of a human when erect due to the lower portion needed for balance; they also have 'way too many legs' and their eyes are red and jelly-like.

The Taxxons possess a never-ending hunger for meat, and will engage in feeding frenzies should they sense meat. They have no qualms with cannibalizing their own kind, and if they are wounded they may even try to eat themselves. They accepted Yeerk control under the promise of food, and the Yeerks did not sway from the bargain; they began using Taxxons to dispose of criminals. There are a group of Taxxons called Mountain Taxxons which fight the Yeerk Empire; the leader of this group is an Andalite nothlit named Arbron who got trapped in Taxxon morph in a secret mission on the Taxxon homeworld The Andalite Chronicles. In book 53, Arbron and his Taxxons met the Animorphs and created a diversion in which many Taxxons are killed. After the battle, all the surviving Taxxons are given the ability to permanently morph into anacondas and other "way too big" snakes so that they can have a form similar to their own, yet be free of the never-ending hunger. Arbron is killed later on in The Beginning by human poachers.
