"Homer. That's my dog."
Jake[src]

Homer was Jake's pet golden retriever and the first morph he acquired.

Biography[]

Acquired by Jake[]

"I thought about becoming Homer. As I stroked his fur I formed a picture in my mind of me becoming Homer. Homer became weirdly quiet while I did it. Like he was asleep, only his eyes were open. [...] It took Homer about ten seconds to come out of his trance. But then he jumped up, normal, hyperactive Homer again. I put him outside in the yard."
Jake[src]

Homer was Jake's personal pet. He was neutered and was fed table scraps, and occasionally interacted with a neighbor's dog named Streak. In 1997,[2] when Jake was thirteen,[3] Jake acquired Homer in his room before putting him out in the backyard.[1] Later in the year, Jake put him out in the yard again. That night, Homer returned to the house, where he was scratched by "Tom" behind the ears.[4]

Morphed by Jake[]

"It still seemed totally ridiculous that I was even thinking about becoming a dog. But as I concentrated, I could begin to feel the itchiness and the squirmy feeling as Homer's DNA combined with the Andalite's technology and began to change me."
Jake[src]

Homer was first morphed by Jake the day after he receiving his powers as a means to test out his morphing ability, and thus was Jake's first acquisition as well as his first morph. Later on that day, Jake morphed Homer again in order to spy on a Sharing meeting held on the beach, where he learned that Tom and Chapman were both being controlled by the Yeerks.[1]

Jake morphed Homer a second time in order to sneak into an outdoor concert with Marco to avoid paying, where they ended up discovering that Erek King was not human.[6] Many months later, Jake morphed Homer a third and final time in order to track David's scent after the latter had snuck out of Cassie's barn.[7]
