Dak Hamee

Dak Hamee is a Hork-Bajir Seer who was featured in The Hork-Bajir Chronicles. He is the great-grandfather of the Hork-Bajir seer Toby Hamee. He meets Aldrea-Iskillion-Falan and her family when they arrive on his planet. Aldrea later helps him learn all that he can to help his planet from the Yeerk invasion. He becomes a great leader in the Hork-Bajir war on his planet. However, he displays great wisdom when he realizes that there is no way to truly save his people

<We can save your people, if they will learn to fight! They don't have to be destroyed.>
"Yes, they do," 
he said quietly. "Either they will learn to fight and hurt and kill, 
or they will learn to be slaves. 
Both will destroy them. Killers or slaves. They will 
be one or the other. Killers or slaves."

During the war Dak comes to see the disheartening truth behind the events. He sees that the Andalites do not value Hork-Bajir, treating them as fools.

"You've come to understand we Hork-Bajir very well in so short a time," Dak said 
coldly. "A simple, 
repeated message for a simple people."

Dak also realizes that the war on the Hork-Bajir homeworld is actually a war between Yeerks and Andalites; the Hork-Bajir are merely pawns in a galactic game of chess. The Hork-Bajir are simply more convinient alive. This is shown to be true when the Quantum Virus is discovered.

"You Andalites have more respect for the vicious Yeerks or the cowardly Arn than you 
have for the Hork-Bajir who fight and die at your sides"

He later falls in love with Aldrea when they make off with the canister contaiing the Quantum Virus and after she becomes a Hork-Bajir Nothlit, and together they have a son Aldrea named Seerow, after her father.
