Trivia[]
- This three-part episode is largely original, drawing on no single existing book material. However, some elements of the episode resembles some loose partial adaptations of stories from the books. These include:
- Jake and Marco breaking into the museum to investigate an Andalite artifact share some similarities with the main plot of The Unknown.
- Tobias learning that Elfangor is his father was a major revelation in The Pretender.
- Harold Nesbit filmed Marco demorphing, which resembles when Marco was photographed while demorphing, a minor plotline in The Journey. However, The Journey was not released until in May 2000 while this episode premiered in September 1999 meaning that any similarities are likely coincidental.
- Breaking into Nesbit's house to steal the tape resembles the Animorphs breaking into David's home to steal the Escafil Device from The Discovery.
- Infiltrating a cosmetic company testing on animals and Ax causing a power outage share some similarities with the early plots of The Experiment, released in March 1999. Since this episode premiered in March 1999, these similarities may be coincidental.
- Ax trying to return home was the inciting incident of The Predator.
- The Animorphs attend school dances in both The Sickness and The Illusion, released it April 1999 and August 1999 respectively. Since this episode premiered in September 1999, this small similarity may be purely coincidental.
- Shempco's motto is "Changing the world one molecule at a time".
- This episode is the only one to feature Rachel's grizzly bear morph.
- This episode marks the final appearances of a demorphed Andalite form before Visser Three morphs into Martin Tessmacher. Ax's last appearance as an Andalite happened in The Front.
Goofs/Inconsistencies[]
- Visser Three acquires Martin Tessmacher through his clothing.
